EXPEL BOY - PREGNANT PUPIL’S FAMILY

MBABANE – An unborn baby has landed two pupils out of school and two families hot under the collar.

A 16-year-old pupil was temporarily suspended from school at Mhlumeni Primary School after he was suspected of impregnating his 15-year-old schoolmate. The pupils are doing Grades VI and V, respectively.

According to sources, the pregnant teenager dropped out of school after it was discovered that she was five months pregnant.
The shocking discovery prompted her grandmother to inform the school head teacher that the pupil would not be returning this term.
The furious grandmother is said to have demanded that the young boy, who allegedly impregnated her granddaughter, be expelled from the school as he had ruined the teen’s future.

Sources close to the matter stated that the pregnancy was reported to the boy’s family as per Swazi tradition, however the suspected father denied paternity. According to sources within the family, the young boy admitted to having had sexual intercourse with the girl but denied impregnating her.
The lad’s argument was that they engaged in sexual relations in June yet the girl was said to be five months pregnant.

The teenage boy is said to have stated that he was not in a relationship with his schoolmate but they only engaged in sexual relations after he was coerced by the young girl.

“Wasitjela kutsi watsi lontfombatane ucela amsite ngobe ulambile,”a relative said.
This can be translated to mean that he told his family that the young girl asked him to assist her as she was starving (sexually).
Reports are to the effect that the young boy was called by the school head teacher on Monday and told to go home and return with his guardian.
