MBABANE – The sight of hordes of flies and a foul smell led to a grim discovery of a pensioned teacher’s body that had been burnt with acid, his upper lip missing and the corpse stuffed under a bed.

The elderly Lucas Sikhosana (68) was found partly hidden under the bed in his house yesterday morning by family members who were oblivious that the former teacher had actually been murdered on Saturday.

Apart from being a pensioned teacher, Sikhosana was also a businessman who owned flats at Msunduza.
Sikhosana, who stayed alone, was found by family members who were leading a man who had gone to Sigangeni to see him about a vacant room in one of the flats that he owned.

He had three children; one is a teacher and lives in the country, while the other two are in South Africa.
According to a family member, Irene Sikhosana, who resides close to Lucas’ house, they suspected foul play in the death of their brother whom they last saw alive last week Thursday in the morning. Irene stated that Lucas was light in complexion but when he was found under the bed, he was pitch black and the clothes he was wearing were stuck to his body.

When the police tried to remove his corpse from the floor where it was found, it was stuck and a shovel had to be used.
“The man who was looking for aroom torent first knocked on the door and there was no response. We had initially thought that Lucas was at Msunduza, so we were surprised when this man came looking for him at Sigangeni. I then suggested that we look through the window. Those who peeped inside were met by a foul smell and a lot flies inside.
