LOBAMBA – The alleged Swaziland Broadcasting and Information Services (SBIS) ‘sex scandal’ between Deputy Director Gcinangaye Tsabedze and a senior engineer, Director Gamedze, has made its way to Parliament.

This was after two MPs; from Nkwene and Mbabane West, Sikhumbuzo Dlamini and Johane Shongwe respectively, called for a probe into the operations of the station by the Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, Dumisani Ndlangamandla.

“I was pulled aside by the wife of the engineer while I was walking near Shoprite, who said I should help her get back the father of her children,” alleged Shongwe.
Shongwe said he thought he had discussed this with the minister last quarter that the employees at SBIS, particularly the senior ones, should stop playing house (emadlwane).
“I am disturbed to learn that this is still ongoing as they continue to play bo bhabhosi,” said Shongwe.

At this point, Motshane MP Phesheya Hlatshwayo asked the MP to clarify what ‘bhabhosi’ is.
MP Shongwe laughed and said no one does not know what bhabhosi is, but after the sitting he told this publication that these were sexual relations.
“Minister please go and hold these meetings and talk to the seniors and staff there because things are not going well,” said Shongwe.

The sexual allegations between the station’s Deputy Director, Tsabedze and her surbodinate Gamedze, made headlines in January this year during a peace-binding case.
Gamedze’s wife, Thobile, made allegations that Tsabedze was habouring her husband.

She alleged that the duo was in a sexual relationship due to groans and moans she once heard, insinuating that the two were having sexual intercourse.
Thobile did not only accuse Tsabedze of harbouring her husband but further alleged that the duo was in an intimate relationship.

This was disclosed during a peace-binding process between her and Tsabedze, which was conducted by Mbabane Magistrate Sifiso Vilakati. The peace- binding came after Tsabedze opened a case against Thobile and her son at the Mbabane Police Station, whom she alleged were harassing her.
