MANZINI – It was such a disappointment! Thousands of followers of Malawian Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and miracle hopefuls went back home unhappy souls as the prophet’s sermon was short and he did not pray for anyone specifically.

The prophet, who is widely referred to as the ‘Major One’ by his followers, arrived in the country on Wednesday afternoon and his church in Swaziland hosted an all night prayer at the Old Trade Fair Grounds, Prince Malunge Pavilion.
Thousands of his followers crammed the pavilion where two tents had been pitched.

Some of his followers had ditched their daily activities as they arrived at the venue as early as 7am, yet the service was supposed to start at 6pm.
The congregation waited until 11:10pm when the prophet finally took to the pulpit but their expectations were not met and the joy of seeing him preach live was short-lived as his sermon lasted for about an hour.
By 12:15am he was marching on the red carpet, leaving the church under a heavy escort of his bodyguards.

However, during his sermon, the prophet tried to explain to the followers that he had a tight schedule, as he was from many other countries and was heading to other nations for similar services.
When he took to the podium, the prophet first said the service would last for about 20 minutes and termed the sermon; ‘Operation 20 minutes’ but the followers complained loudly from the floor.
He then explained that due to his tight schedule, he would be unable to pray for each of the thousands of worshippers who attended the service.

“I am moving around because of the people’s faith in Jesus and that is why I am here in Swaziland. I have come here to encourage you to continue having faith in Jesus because the Lord loves you,” the prophet said.
In comforting them, he said the fact that they could hear his voice live, not from television, he believed they would come with testimonies when he met them in the next service to be held when he comes back.
However, he did not announce when exactly he would be back.

He emphasised that he had a hectic programme as he was supposed to fly to Malawi, his home country to connect to Australia. He said from there he would go to the United States of America (USA) and Germany among other countries.
The followers concurred that his visit meant a lot to them and they believed miracles would happen after they attended his live sermon because usually, they would experience wonders after watching him on television.
