MAN ATTRACTS COPS WITH DAGGA FACEBOOK POST

MANZINI – Have you ever liked something so much you could not stop posting pictures of it?

This might be the case of a man said to be a security guard, who posted a number of pictures of himself either posing with marijuana or in bushes of it.

Samkeliso Nkambule’s pictures are seemingly quite popular as they drew a lot of comments from his friends.
In one picture, he is posing in what seems to be a bush of the illegal herb, while in another picture, he is seen carrying a pot containing the plant.

When asked about the strange pictures, the man initially denied that it was him who was in the pictures on social media; however, he later confessed but said he saw nothing wrong with his pictures because he was not selling or advertising dagga.

Nkambule said he was not afraid to post the pictures on social media as he was having fun and not breaking any law.
“The bushes are right next to where I work, each time I pass by I take a snap and go on with my journey. I even have friends who are police officers on my friends list and they have never told me I was breaking the law,” he said.

He said although he was not engaged in selling marijuana it had become a way of life for some people around his area because of the unemployment rate. He just enjoyed taking pictures in front of it.

Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Khulani Mamba said they could not formally charge the man for posting pictures of himself in bushes of marijuana, but his actions would prompt the police to conduct investigations, which would lead to the identifying of where it is grown and further destroying it.
Superintendent Mamba further advised against posting such pictures on social media.
