MANZINI – The law has finally caught up with the Farm Lodge manager who allegedly assaulted her employee with fists and kicks.
This, after the court issued a warrant for her arrest yesterday.

The businesswoman, Busisiwe Dlamini (32) of Ezulwini, was supposed to appear in court yesterday, however, she was  a no-show.  Her attorney Gcina Mhlanga informed the court that his client was currently in the United States of America (USA) and would probably return to the country on June 3, 2017.

“Your Worship, my client has travelled to the USA and she is currently experiencing flight challenges. She has to connect from Doha on June 1 using the Qata Airways, and is expected to land at OR Tambo on the following day,” Mhlanga said. He requested the court to have the warrant of arrest stayed until June 7, 2017, and give his client time, in case she experienced more flight challenges. Magistrate Lucia Lukhele issued the warrant of apprehension, which would be stayed until the said date, after which the police would be expected to effect an arrest if Dlamini does not show up in court. The accused person allegedly assaulted one Nontobeko Dlamini, her former employee, who is also a University of Swaziland (UNISWA) student.

The charge sheet states that the accused person assaulted Nontobeko with fists and kicks several times all over the body on November 7, 2016 at Farm Lodge Guest House. When informing the media about the incident, the complainant alleged that her employer kicked her, rolled her on the ground and repeatedly slapped her across the face, in full view of shocked onlookers.

She alleged that her crime was to resign from work, citing unworkable conditions. However, Dlamini alleged, at the time, that Nontebeko had allegedly stolen money from her business.
