Matsebula, who was a popular figure was reported missing on Friday by his wife, and soon after, a search for him ensued. Police tried in vain to find him throughout the weekend until they received a report which that there was corpse which was found floating in a river at Buka and no one seemed to know who had disposed it there.

Police thereafter, issued an announcement for people who may know the person who was found dead, to come forth for identification purposes. It was later established that the corpse was that of  Matsebula.
News of his demise was confirmed by Superintendent Khulani Mamba, the Chief Police Information and Communications Officer, in an interview yesterday.
