MOTJANE – “Leave me alone and let me die.” These were screams by a profusely bleeding man who caused a scene as he tried to throw himself on the highway insisting that he should be freed in order for motorists to finish him off.

The man who was repeatedly referred to as PJ by residents, believed to be in his mid 40s and allegedly not mentally stable, first went berserk and disturbed motorists while driving a white Isuzu KB 250 diesel bakkie on the lane facing oncoming traffic.

In typical movie scene style, he first drove the car which had one of its front tyres completely flat, along the highway, headed to the capital city and then took a surprise turn which led to him disturbing and almost bumping other cars.

He further injured himself in the process, which saw some residents from the area coming to try and assist him.
As they tried to assist him, the man deserted the car and jumped onto the other lane screaming that he wanted the oncoming cars to bump him.
One of the residents offered to take him to hospital with his own vehicle but he pulled another stunt and alighted and ran to the other lane.

At that time, he posed like a goalkeeper during a football game, by opening his hands to oncoming cars.
One of the drivers stopped, alighted from his vehicle and while trying to determine what was happening, the man rushed to the front seat of the car and turned on the engine.

The man was becoming uncontrollable as he fought everyone who came closer to him.
