MBABANE – The Swazi student who was reported missing at the University of Cape Town (UCT) has been found dead.

According to the South African police, the young man was found hanging from a tree near a rail line on the same day of his disappearance.

The police said they had opened an investigation on the cause of his death following that there was no suicide note the student, Siboniso Dlamini, had left.
The discovery of the lifeless body of Dlamini comes after he was reported missing by one of his relatives, who posted the information on social network facebook after he was last seen on April 23 at the university.

The post was followed by a comment from a facebook user, who emphasised that the student had not been seen for two weeks and that he had left his phone in his room.

His relatives only learnt about his death on Monday, after they found Dlamini in a mortuary where he had been kept following his death.
Yesterday, the relative posted again but this time with the sad news that he had been found dead.

The relative, who said Dlamini was her nephew, mentioned that his body was already in a mortuary and that he died on the same day he went missing.

The relative thanked those who had shown support including media houses, who had published the story about the student’s disappearance.

“Now he must be fetched in Cape Town and brought home for burial, thanks everyone for sharing this post, it’s much appreciated,” the relative said in the post.
