KWALUSENI - “This is a church not a club.”

This was said by Reverend Johannes Mazibuko as he read the riot act to members of the Alliance Church in Swaziland on Friday during the church’s Easter Services.
In fact, Mazibuko asked the Alliance church members who were not born again to leave the church. He gave them two choices which were to accept Christ or leave the church.
The Alliance church easter services were held at the Kwaluseni Alliance Church where all the branches met over the weekend. “I have no problem if you are a homosexual, but it is a problem if you stay that way,” said Mazibuko.
He also had the same message for drunkards and womanisers that they were welcome to the church but if they did not change their ways they would no longer be welcome at the church.

The theme of the Easter service was ‘Growing and Developing Healthy Churches’.
Mazibuko said there were three kinds of churches lately, which were the healthy church, sick church and diseased and dying church.
He said he did not want unborn again Christians in his church as they caused diseased and dying churches. “Leave the Alliance church if you do not want to be born again,” said Mazibuko.
He said the congregation should make one of two decisions to accept God or excuse themselves if they did not want to be born again.

He said this was a simple exercise as taking a shower, stating that if one did not want cold water over their body then they should not take a shower. “Stop being religious (kusontsa) but start being true to the Lord,” said Mazibuko.
He also lashed out at congregants who did not pay their tithes.
Mazibuko said these were the first people to complain about the lack of chairs or shortage of other things in the church.  “They complain about the lack of electricity yet they do not pay tithes and they expect to be in the church,” said Mazibuko.

In explaining the three kinds of churches, Mazibuko said a healthy church was one that was spiritually sound and one of morally high standard and one that was financially stable.
He said in a healthy church, 80 per cent of the congregants were born again and full of the Holy Spirit and actively involved in church activities.
“Some of you church members just buzz us and you register as if you are active members yet there is nothing that you do,” said Mazibuko.
