MBABANE – Two foetuses were found at a water treatment site within a week.

This follows the previous discovery of another earlier this year.
The first foetus was discovered headless by an employee of Swaziland Water Services Corporation (SWSC) on Monday last week at around 10am.

On Saturday, at around 11am, another foetus surfaced at the same treatment plant that is near Mqolo Primary School.
The latest foetus is estimated to be three months old and the other could not be estimated as it had a missing head.
When the SWSC employees made the discovery, they called the police immediately and an enquiry docket was opened.

Information gathered is that at the site, where these foetuses were found, waste from all over the capital city is directed into it.
The foetuses were visible through the coarse and fine screens and the SWSC employees had to open and take them out.

Those who found the dumped foetuses said they were not shocked by this anymore as they have fished out three this year so far.
“It cannot be easy to find out who threw the foetus away because the sewers are from all over Mbabane. The highest possibility is that they are thrown into manholes because that size cannot go down an indoor toilet. Owners of these know where they throw away such and hopefully the police can investigate and find the culprits,” one of the people at the plant stated.

When the foetuses are found they that are not covered with clothing or as it is suspected they are thrown in a plastic bags, which wear off when they pass through the sewer system.
