MAID ‘STEALS EMPLOYER’S E54 000, BURNS HOUSE’

MBABANE – An ambition to live a luxurious life while in the position of maid has resulted in the employee allegedly stealing items and burning her employer’s house.


The devious maid’s action has resulted in her employer, Bimal da Silva, who was away for the festive holidays with his family, suffering a loss of E231 000.
The incident happened at Selection Park around Mbabane where Zenzile Tfwala (32) who was made to live at the servant’s quarters, allegedly broke into her employer’s main house and stole items valued at E54 000.


The items included a refrigerator, television set, laptops, watches and many other items.
Gathered information is to the effect that Tfwala, originally from Sinceni, reported the housebreaking incident to the police.
 However, the police are said to have visited the scene and suggested that they should send the scenes of crime team to take fingerprints as they were visible in some of the items left in the house.


When Tfwala realised that the police were conducting intense investigations, she allegedly set the whole house on fire, presumably to defeat the ends of justice.
Household material valued at E177 000 was burnt in the process. These included a wedding outfit, carpets, coffee tables, toaster and many other items.


Two days after the housebreaking incident, Tfwala reported an arson incident to the police. .
