SIKHUPHE – His Majesty King Mswati III has received special messages from Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta and Botswana President Ian Khama.

The special messages were delivered by special envoys who were sent by the presidents to the King at King Mswati III International Airport. However, the King was represented by Prime Minister (PM) Sibusiso Dlamini.
The delegates from Kenya were led by Deputy President William Ruto and they included Minister of Environment and Conservation of Wildlife Judy Wakhungu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Amina Mohamed and Member of Parliament Cornelly Serem.

Jean Kamau, High Commissioner of Kenya to Swaziland, was also present during the meeting.
Meanwhile, Botswana Assistant Minister of Health and Wellness Dikgang Philip Makgalemele was leading the delegation from Botswana.
The contents of the special messages for the King could not be revealed before they were delivered to him.
On another note, the special delegation from Kenya went to tour some Royal Swaziland Sugar Corporation (RSSC) sugar fields in Simunye before leaving the country.

It is worth noting that the King, who is the reigning Chairman of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), took over from the Botswana president during the 36th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government, which was held in the country in August 2016.
