LOBAMBA – Manzini Wanderers had the most chances in the game but missed them all to allow triple league champions Royal Leopard to grind home another precious three points.

The MTN League match, which preceded the capital city derby won 3-2 by Mbabane Swallows, was watched by over 5 000 fans and the hub giants despite, ending the game with 10 men following a red card to hard tackling Sifiso Matse, deserved something from the tie.

The police team should be credited for having mastered the art of winning even on their bad day.
Wanderers should have surged ahead as early as 16 minutes into the game when Ivorian striker Danny Zabo’s glancing header went agonisingly wide from a well delivered cross on the left flank by Zimbabwean Tawanda Chikore.
The best chance fell for the burly striker, who was set through by Aladian Kola, but watched his well-dinked shot stray just inches off the upright, a minute before the recess.

In-between that, Barry Steenkamp had made some attempts on goal that were routinely saved by Mbongeni Motsa.
The Weslians went to sleep soon after the interval, and they paid dearly for their slumber. The workaholic Muzi ‘Mzoro’ Dlamini was allowed some acres of space on the right flank to lift a cross into the six-yard box that Lungelo Tsabedze deftly nodded home for the winner.

They held on to the goal, as Wanderers tried but failed to get one back despite having Matse sent off for an off-the-ball incident.
Leopard have made an early season statement of intent in as far as defending the league is concerned having maintained their 100 percent start to the season.

Tsabedze has scored twice already in the league, having also found the back of the net during last week’s 1-0 win over Green Mamba.
They are now tied on six points with Mbabane Swallows.
