MBABANE – A nurse based at the Mbabane Government Hospital has been arrested for stealing lipstick at Clicks Stores in Mbabane.

Sithembile Mamba (25) who resides at the Mbabane Nurses’ Home was nabbed by a security guard while she was about to leave the shop after having stolen the lipstick valued at E160.
She committed the offence on Tuesday afternoon and made her first court appearance yesterday.

“The accused is charged with the offence of theft in that upon August 23, 2016 and at or near Clicks, she wrongfully, unlawfully and intentionally stole a black opal lipstick valued at E160, the lawful property of or in the lawful possession of Thulani Sibanyoni,” reads part of the charge sheet.
When the charge was read to her she pleaded guilty and further told the court that it was a mistake.

She further claimed that she only realised when she was about to leave the shop that she had not paid for the lipstick.
Mbabane Magistrate Sifiso Vilakati warned Mamba against going to town when she did not have money as she would be tempted to steal.
Magistrate Vilakati found her guilty as per her own plea and sentenced her to five months imprisonment or a fine of E500.

Meanwhile, a female employee of one of the banking institutions was last week Tuesday reported to have also been nabbed by the security guard after having stolen lipstick.

She was, however, lucky as at the police station, she was made to pay an admission of guilt. This means that she did not appear before court. In 2012, a Mbabane socialite was also arrested and charged for stealing (shoplifting) at the same shop, Clicks.
