PIGG’S PEAK – All the street protests in the name of democratising Swaziland are fruitless according to Floyd Shivambu the Deputy President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

“The Swaziland struggle is going nowhere,” he posted on Facebook.
He was writing in response to an article he said was being distributed by Lucky Lukhele, the spokesperson of the Swaziland Solidarity Network, which said that former South African president Thabo Mbeki would vote ANC.
The post was made after EFF officials including its leader Julius Malema paid Mbeki a visit during a door to door campaign.  The meeting between Mbeki and EFF cadres attracted huge media attention as the former president is still a member of the ANC.
Lukhele has since removed the post he shared from his Facebook wall.

“Some Fool called Lucky Lukhele from Swaziland Solidarity Network is circulating a bogus article about the content of our meeting with President Thabo Mbeki,” Shivambu wrote in the comment.
Shivambu said Mbeki never told FFF that he would vote for the ANC. Mbeki instead is said to have told them that his vote would be a secret. He urged Lukhele to focus on Swaziland politics and ‘stop being stupid’.

Shivambu also accused Swaziland political activists of campaigning on behalf of a corrupt ANC. He said this was despite that EFF was in support with Swazi activists.
In response to Shivambu’s lashing out at Lukhele, some disagreed with the deputy chief whip’s view. Muzi Ndlovu who commented lashed back that good standing members of the ruling party would vote for it.

“Thabo Mbeki is a good standing member of the ANC,” said Ndlovu.
Another person who commented Phumlani Nkambule said Lukhele should be cited as an individual.
