ASHRAF’S E50 000 STOLEN INSIDE ACCOUNTANT’S CAR

MBABANE – Indonesian Consul Kareem Ashraff had E50 000 in cash stolen by three men in broad daylight from his vehicle in a parking lot. The vehicle, driven by his accountant Shesham Mills last Monday, was left with the doors unlocked outside Build It in Mbabane.


According to a police report, the theft occurred at around 4:30pm when the cash, passports and a laptop were snatched from the Toyota Alfad. The passports belonged to Mills and his wife.


Mills was inside the hardware shop, situated near the new police station in the city centre, when the theft took place.
Some employees, who are stationed outside the shop, did not notice the robbery until Mills went back to the vehicle and made the discovery.
It could not be gathered what the money was to be used for and why it was not kept in a bank or why the doors had not been locked with a large amount of money inside.


During police investigations, it was gathered that there are three suspects involved and two of these have been named.
Sibusiso Mkhonyovu Ginindza (30) from Mbekelweni and Stopper Mncina from Maphalaleni area at KaGcoka have been fingered, with investigations continuing for the apprehension of the third suspect.


Ashraff has resided in Swaziland for over 17 years. he khontaed as a Swazi and his company is providing jobs for Swazis. His business is situated at the Mbabane Industrial Sites and he provides uniforms for the armed forces.
Assistant Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, Police Deputy Information and Communications Officer, confirmed the theft from the motor vehicle.
