MBABANE – During this past weekend, four people lost their lives in various road accidents.

One was a boy aged 14, who on Saturday, at around midday, lost control of a tractor he was driving.
The tractor, a Ladin, overturned and landed on him resulting in serious injuries and he was rushed to Nhlangano Health Centre where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
This incident happened at Khiza.

Another accident happened at around 3pm on Saturday when a 57-year old man of Mantabeni failed to control his bicycle while cycling down a hill and plunged into a donga.
According to Chief Police Information and Communications Officer, Superintendent Khulani Mamba, the rider sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Mankayane Government Hospital where he was also certified dead on arrival.
Mamba noted that the carnage on the roads was a cause for concern as the death of even one person was too much.

He said the accidents that claimed lives over the weekend were in different parts of the country with one taking place along Lonhlupheko/Siteki public road.

Mamba further said another accident took place along the Manzini/Matsapha public road. He said at or near Magevini, a Mazda 2 driven by a 37-year-old man of Boyane, knocked the foot of the overhead bridge when its driver lost control of it.
The police spokesperson said the driver sustained internal injuries and was rushed to RFM Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
