MATSAPHA – The country is on the right track to claim the Guinness Book of World Records title this year and Her Majesty the Queen Mother is positive the nation will achieve that.
This was evident in the thousands of people who attended this year’s Biggest Braai held at IDM premises yesterday.

The current holder of the title Guinness Book of World Records is said to have recorded 2 800 people and during yesterday’s event, it was said people who were present were over that number but the auditors were still doing calculations of the people who braaied on the day.

Her Majesty the Queen Mother has said; “Swazis like meat and we should use this event to show the world that Swazi people eat meat by breaking the Guinness Book of World Records,” she said.
The Queen Mother was represented by Prince Guduza.

Impressed

The Queen Mother, who did not hide that she was impressed by the number of the people who attended the event, said she believed that this year, the country would show the world that Swazis love meat by claiming the title for the Guinness Book of World Records this year.
She was also happy to see an improvement of the event as the preparations and number of people was better than last year, adding that it was why she was positive that the country would break the record.
The country hosted its debut Biggest Braai last year and it was held at Mahhala, Matsapha.
On the same note, Philani Maswati Chairman Lutfo Dlamini commended the turnout during this year’s Biggest Braai where the ambassadors were Miss Tourism 2015/16 Nadia Nascimento and jazz artist Bholoja.
The chairman further expressed Her Majesty the Queen Mother’s sincere appreciation to all the people who attended the event and further invited more people to be present during next year’s occasion.

Again, Her Majesty the Queen Mother also thanked the companies who sponsored the event and they included Spar, Logico and Tee n Jay, to mention but a few.
The companies were also awarded with certificates by the Queen Mother as a token of appreciation for their support. The event was organised by Philani Maswati in partnership with Buy and Save and they were assisted by a number of other companies.
