MYEZA SURRENDERS HIMSELF TO POLICE

MBABANE – Former Khubuta Member of Parliament (MP) Charles Myeza who  mysteriously disappeared from the High Court after his conviction and sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court on Thursday, has surrendered himself to the police.


The former MP who was out on bail was expected to be taken back to prison after he lost his appeal but decided to leave the High Court immediately after the judgment was delivered.


Upon surrendering, he disclosed that after the judgment he left for Manzini.
He further informed the police that while there, he changed his mind and decided to surrender himself to law enforcers at the Mbabane Police Station.


On Thursday police had a tough time locating Myeza as he disappeared after the judgment and they had to search for him all over the High Court building, but all their efforts were in vain.

Police Deputy Information Communications Officer, Assistant Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed that the former legislator later surrendered himself to after he had mysteriously disappeared from the High Court.
Myeza will spend five years in jail after the Supreme Court confirmed his conviction and sentence.


The Supreme Court found that Myeza was correctly convicted of fraud, forgery and uttering.
His wife, who was present in court to offer him moral support failed to control her emotions as she broke down immediately after the court had delivered its judgment.
