MBABANE – A pastor’s wife, who is desirous to have at least two children but cannot conceive through the natural way, wants the court to allow her to carry out an assisted reproduction.

This process is known as an in- vitro fertilisation (IVF).
An in- vitro fertilisation is a procedure done to assist couples and individuals who are not able to conceive the natural way.
Philisiwe Nandi Dludlu (born Mamba) has since filed an application in the High Court where she is, inter alia, seeking an order that she be granted permission to carry out an assisted reproduction process at the Pretoria Academy Hospital, Fertility Clinic in the Republic of South Africa.
According to her, they have tried but failed to have childbirth with the husband. She is represented by Bongani “Bhanyaza” Mdluli from Bongani G Mdluli & Associates.

Dludlu further wants to be granted authority to engage a willing sperm donor, medically approved by the fertility clinic, for the purposes of the VIF process.
In her application, she stated that she had been medically advised and verily believes that the only way she could conceive was through IVF.
Dludlu who is employed at Swazi Med as Administrative Secretary, informed the court that on or about February 2016, she was diagnosed with infertility, which resulted in her fallopian tube(s) being cut.

She said she was, thereafter, declared sterile and that she would never have children in the ordinary and/or natural way, that is through sexual intercourse.
“My medical condition has worsened such that I have, on certain instances, been called upon to do hysterosalpingogram at Medi Clinic in Nelspruit, South Africa which has shown that it was not possible for me to conceive the natural way since my fallopian tubes are blocked and several means to remove the blockage have failed,” alleged Dludlu.
