MBABANE – The Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) Savings & Credit Co-operative  Society has taken two of its tenants at SNAT building in Manzini to court  over arrear rentals amounting to over E130 000.

The two tenants are Ronsi Investments (PTY) Limited, which allegedly owes a sum of E64 889.13 and Ronean Stylist, which is allegedly in arrear rentals amounting to E65 872.34. Through its attorney, the Cooperative has since obtained an interim order interdicting the companies from removing any assets from the building.

The interim order was yesterday extended by High Court Judge Ticheme Dlamini and the two companies are expected to show cause why the order should not be made final on July 1, 2016. The court also ordered a deputy sheriff to attach all movables upon the premises and keep them under lock and key and further do whatever necessary to prevent their removal.

SNAT Savings & Credit Co-operative Society General Manager, Wandile Ndwandwe stated that on or about November 2005, the applicant (SNAT Co-operative) entered into a lease agreement to lease shop No.14, SNAT Building to Ronsi Investments. He alleged that when entering into the agreement SNAT Co-operative was represented by him while the respondent (Ronsi Investment) was represented by its Director, Ronny Sihlongonyane.

Ndwandwe alleged that the material terms of the agreement were that the lease period commenced on November 1, 2005.
According to Ndwandwe, the monthly rentals payable were in the sum of E1 331, which included operations costs and this amount was subject to a 10 per cent increase annually.
