NDZIMANYE RIGHTFUL CHIEF OF MHLABUBOVU, SAYS KING

MHLABUBOVU – His Majesty King Mswati III has declared Chief Ndzimanye Dlamini of LaMgabhi as the rightful chief of Mhlabubovu.


 This in effect brings to an end a raging dispute of more than 20 years, between Chief Ndzimanye and Chief Lembelele Dlamini of Luyengweni, who also claimed that he was the rightful chief of the disputed area and as such had the right to allocate land. His Majesty has ruled that Mhlabubovu area is under Chief Ndzimanye, according to the history presented before him. 


 In a meeting headed by the Manzini Regional Administrator (RA) Prince Gcokoma, residents of the two areas (Luyengweni and LaMgabhi) gathered in an open field located near Mhlabubovu Primary School, where they listened attentively as Mandla Dlamini, who is the SNC Secretary, relayed the ruling made by His Majesty the King over the dispute concerning the rightful chief of Mhlabubovu.


In his address, Mandla briefly outlined the cause of the dispute over the two chiefdoms and revealed that Chief Lembelele of Luyengweni had actually been the person who approached His Majesty King Mswati III kuyowembula ingubo meaning to ask for intervention, after he had received court papers concerning the eviction of certain homes, which he had allocated land at Mhlabubovu.


Mandla said after the SNC had been assigned by the King to work on the issue, the team had gone about gathering evidence on who exactly was the rightful chief of the area in dispute.
He said the SNC held consultative meetings with residents of LaMgabhi and they presented their evidence on why they claimed the land belonged to them.
