KONTSHINGILA – Pupils and teachers were treated to a rare spectacle when a former pupil invaded their school and assaulted the head teacher over his withheld results.

The incident occurred yesterday morning at New Nazareth Primary School, situated at KoNtshingila area, about 20km to the east of Hlatikhulu.
Musa Nzima, the Head teacher, confirmed the incident.
He said it all started in his office, in the presence of his deputy.

“That boy had always given us problems at the school and yesterday he was just uncontrollable. He just became aggressive and also hurled expletives; threatening me with violence in front of the deputy head teacher,” Nzima said.

The head teacher said his only sin was to ask the boy to bring along his parents, so that the issue of his withheld results could be put to rest.
Information reaching this publication was that the boy, who is in his late teens, had been to the school on numerous occasions, where his desperate pleas to have his Grade VII results released had always failed.

Apparently, seven pupils initially had their results kept by the school administrator, following a break-in, which occurred at the staff room where seven pairs of soccer boots went missing.

The seven pupils were suspected to have had a hand in the break-in, and a decision was taken to force them to pay for the loss.
It was gathered that six of the fingered pupils eventually received their results, with the exception of the boy who attacked the head teacher yesterday.
