MBABANE – Mduduzi Nkambule, the suspended Executive Secretary of the Teaching Service Commission (TSC), has been paid about E863 000 during the period he was on suspension.

Nkambule was recently acquitted on corruption charges.
The Times SUNDAY has established that he earns a monthly salary of E29 767.36.

This amount excludes any allowances he might be entitled to and deductions like tax, pension and others.
Deducing from his suspension date of December 16, 2013, it means he has been sitting at home for about 29 months and has earned a sum of E863 253.44.

Incidentally, the TSC Executive Secretary is due to retire in two years.
He retires from the civil service on May 26, 2018.
He turns 58 this year.

The TSC boss is presently out of work, following suspension by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), on December 16, 2013.
He was suspended following his arrest on charges related to the contravention of Section 27 of the Prevention of Corruption Act No.3 of 2006. Nkambule remains at home despite that the High Court found him not guilty of the charges he faced.
His duties are currently being done by Ncamsile Mtshali, on an acting basis.

Nkambule was cleared by Justice Titus Mlangeni, who dismissed the charges on May 17, 2016.
