MBABANE – A Swazi Jericho man almost drowned during the Jericho Church cleansing ceremony that was held in Durban over the past weekend.

Over 10 000 Jericho Church members attended the ceremony which was held at Windsor Park Golf Course in Durban, South Africa.
The man is believed to have stayed behind with a few members after the other Melika Jericho Church members had left. It was gathered that he wanted to collect sea water using a container he had bought by the seaside. When some of the members realised what was happening, they came to his rescue and tried to pray for him before rushing him to hospital as he did not respond.

The man, who is alleged to be a priest, was unconsciousness when he was pulled out of the water. He was kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a hospital in South Africa and he regained consciousness on Wednesday morning. This priest is still admitted to the hospital in Durban and is being monitored since he was in a coma for four days.

“When he was pulled out of the water, the other church members were still present and they tried to pray for him by the seaside but he did not move or wake up. One of the male elder priests was also present but the prayers failed to resuscitate him. He was  then rushed to hospital as he was critical and was admitted to the ICU. We thank God that we have gotten word that he is out of the coma and he is responding well to treatment,” a church member, who also attended the cleasing ceremony, stated.

According to information, the priest would return to the country after his health becomes stable as the other members came back over the weekend.
