MANZINI – The Prime Minister (PM) Sibusiso Banarbas Dlamini has called for stiff sentences for people who hire assassins to kill other people in the country.

The premier said this in the backdrop of an astounding revelation that a former minister had allegedly hired four Mozambican men and a Swazi to assassinate him, and the late Evangelistic, Reverend Kaiser Fakudze, as well as a Board chairman of one of the government’s parastatals.

The PM said the world over, many offices of authority considered hiring an assassin a more serious crime than the act of actually murdering a person.

“The amount of guilt in hiring a gunman is even greater than the task of carrying out the murder itself,” he said.
According to information contained in a story carried by this publication yesterday, a suspect, Mazwi Ginindza (32) of Lomahasha, confessed to having been hired, together with four Mozambican men, and given a list of people that the former minister wanted killed.
It is alleged that one of the persons listed by the ex-minister had already been killed.

“There can be little more evil than hiring an assassin,” the PM said, while addressing high ranking officials of the Royal Swaziland Police Service during the farewell function for two retired Deputy National Commissioners; Khisimusi Ndlovu and Sipho Dlamini.
The plan to assassinate the prime minister is alleged to have been hatched during a meeting at the former minister’s home.

The pm explained that while he was aware that the occasion was about the retirement of Ndlovu and Dlamini, he was sure that they would support his decision to draw the attention of the public to a number of serious issues.
