MANZINI – A Grade V pupil has committed suicide after being raped multiple times by a convicted rapist.

The rape convict faces other charges of raping the very same primary school pupil on numerous occassions and reportedly infecting her with HIV.
The convict was first arrested in 2013 on rape charges but was released by the High Court after paying E15 000 bail; E3 000 cash and E12 000 surety. He, however, committed similar offences after returning home by raping the pupil.

The girl’s mother, *Thuli, said her child was raped several times by one Stadium Dlamini (42), who is currently in custody at the Zakhele Remand Centre. The offender was convicted last year and sentenced to 13 years imprisonment without an option of a fine by Principal Magistrate David Khumalo after he was found guilty of raping the same girl.

When Dlamini was convicted by the court in 2015, he was out on bail for another rape charge, which he allegedly committed in 2013. In that year, he is said to have raped the same girl on numerous occasions and during one of the rape incidents, he allegedly strangled her in a forest nearby her homestead and raped her countless times.

The victim’s mother said the first time her daughter was raped by Dlamini, most family members did not support her as they claimed she was fabricating the rape ordeals.

At the time, Dlamini had been arrested by the Matsapha police. The family, which the offender had been working for as a herdsmen, is alleged to have hired an attorney on his behalf at the time.

The lawyer is said to have immediately filed a bail application at the High Court, which resulted in his release.
