MBABANE – Former Senate Deputy President Reverend Abednego Dlamini has passed away.

Dlamini, who was the President of the Universal Peace Federation, passed away on Friday April 29, 2016.
This was confirmed by his wife, Jabulile Dlamini, who said even though they were saddened by his death, they were grateful that he lived his life in Christ and instilled in the family the importance of prayer.
She revealed that Dlamini collapsed while he was taking a bath on Friday, at around 7am.

“Even though he was sick for quite some time, on the day he passed on he was very much well and even said so himself.
“His body was said to have too much acid but he could still walk. We are grateful that he played his role not just as a pastor but as a father to our family because his faith was strong.
“He taught us the importance of showing love for one another and we shall always value that,” Jabulile said.

The late Dlamini will be remembered not only for his role in the country’s politics but for having served in many statutory Boards before his death.
He was once a Board Member for NaMboard and before his death, he served in the Board for Dalcrue, which is a subsidiary of Tibiyo TakaNgwane and was also a director at Blue Financial Services.
Before becoming a politician, he was a member of the Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF).

He was ministering at the Holy Apostolic Church in Sabbath Buhleni Branch.
He leaves behind 10 children, 28 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday at Divine Healing Ministries in Manzini, starting at 10am.
He will be laid to rest on Sunday May 8, 2016 at his parental home at Herefords.
