MAN WAKES UP IN CAVE AFTER DRINKING IN BAR

MBABANE – A man has opened a case with the police after he spent a night in a cave in Mbabane where he lost his wallet, and mobile phone.

The man, who cannot be named pending investigations, told the police that he remembered drinking at one of the bars in the outskirts of Mbabane and after his drinking session, which ended with him in a not extremely drunk state, he walked to his car which was the last thing he remembered.
He said he did not remember how he got to the cave, which is about two kilometres from where he had parked his vehicle at the bar where he had been drinking.

He found the car at the same spot on the Sunday after his unexplainable travel to the cave.
When he got out of the cave at around 4am, he waited for the sun to come up before he went home and informed his wife about the ordeal and in her company, and that of his brother.

They went to the Mbabane Police Station to report the matter and he was advised to go to hospital as he had an injury on his forehead.
At the police station, he reported that his belongings like his cellphone,  an expensive pair of boots and wallet had been left inside the cave.
Plans were made to go into the dark cave with some touches to retrieve the man’s property.

Assistant Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, Police Deputy Information and Communications Officer, confirmed that the matter had been reported to the police.
“We have opened an enquiry file on the matter and will continue with investigations. The man came to the station and informed us of what had happened and we will go to the cave to retrieve his property, which he couldnt explain how it was left behind. He did have a bruise on his forehead and he went to hospital on the Sunday morning he came to report the matter to us,” Vilakati said.
