MBABANE – A Mountain Inn Hotel chef has divorced his wife after discovering that she was pregnant with a taxi man’s child.

The final decree of divorce between the Chef, Leonard Dlamini and his wife Thuli Nonhlanhla Kunene, of Mvutshini, who is employed as a maid, was issued by Magistrate Simangele Mbatha.

This comes after Dlamini filed an application where he was inter alia seeking an order for a final decree of divorce, dissolution of the parties’ joint estate and forfeiture of the benefits arising from the marriage. In his application, he stated that they got married in community of property, solemnised in Ezulwini on October 22, 2000.

He said the parties established a matrimonial home at Mvutshini and four children were born.
Dlamini further submitted that during the subsistence of their marriage and with a malicious and settled intention of severing the marital ties, his wife committed the following acts of misconduct:

On or about October 2013 she maliciously deserted him, packed and removed household items and left the matrimonial home; after leaving the matrimonial home she went to stay at a rented flat in a Mavuso homestead without his consent and knowledge and on various occasions and after October 2013 she engaged in an adulterous affair with one Mancoba Msibi, a taxi man of Elangeni and as a result a child was born out of that relationship.

He told Magistrate Mbatha that from October 2013 life between him and his wife was no longer healthy. “I found out that she was being brought have by a taxi and upon asking her she said she had hired same,” he stated.

The chef informed the court that his wife later packed her belongings and went to stay at the Mavuso homestead which is situated at Buka.
