MANZINI – The African United Democratic Party (AUDP) has claimed that the proposed talks between His Majesty King Mswati III and the G15 are being sabotaged.

A member of the party decried the fact that the Peaceful Political Dialogue was being hijacked, frustrated and sabotaged by opportunist political parties, socialist dictators and individuals. “These mentioned groups are claiming victory over our struggle of advancing Liberalism in Swaziland,” he said.

He mentioned that  the reason he had decided to step out from the shadows and address the issues surrounding the democratic  dialogue was because a number of  the AUDP members were concerned at the fact that the party was being excluded from all matters involving the process yet they had spearheaded it from  the onset.

“We are asking other organisation not to sabotage these talks and claim them as their own but to allow peaceful inclusive dialogue to take place.”
The member expressed appreciation for the assistance of Africa Liberal Network (ALN),  Liberal Internationally, and the international community including the European Union, United States of America, United Nations, Commonwealth and other groups in  Swaziland.

“The peaceful political dialogue, in Swaziland, is as a result of Marrakech Declaration for Human Rights, and/or AUDP struggle for advancing Liberalism in Swaziland, Africa and Internationally,” he said when interviewed.

He explained that during the African Liberal Network (ALN) General Assembly from September 29-31, 2014, in Morocco, the Secretary General of the United Democratic Front of Malawi informed him that they would send former President Bakili Muluzi to lead the Commonwealth in facilitating the Peaceful Political Dialogue between AUDP together with liberal supporters and King Mswati III.
