SWAZIS UNITE, BLAST FALSE FOREIGN MEDIA REPORTS

MBABANE – CCTV Africa has felt the wrath of scorned Swazis after it reported that 38 maidens had been killed in a bus crash on their way to dance for His Majesty King Mswati III.

The online page, which has about 390 000 followers on popular social networking site  Facebook, posted a picture of a bus that overturned in the Eastern Cape in South Africa, killing 37 people, and reported that it was the Swazi maidens who were killed.

This is despite the fact that the picture they published was of a bus and at the accident scene were vehicles from the South African Police Services (SAPS).

Concerned Swazis expressed their disgust at the website to the extent of calling them fools and wondering if the SAPS now operated in Swaziland.
They further corrected CCTV Africa, stating that although an accident had occurred in Swaziland involving maidens, the correct information was that the girls were travelling in trucks and not a bus and further stated that the official figure was 13.

“Jesus Christ! Why is CCTV Africa misleading people?! First of all that picture doesn’t show the accident scene, secondly, the maidens were not in a bus, they were in trucks. They were from cutting the reed,” reads a post from one of the shocked readers called Patience.
