MBABANE – A female lawyer is being divorced by her husband who claimed to have returned from a trip in Dubai to find used condoms in their bedroom.

The husband, who is an accountant, alleged that upon his return from the trip he found an empty condom wrapper hidden under their bed in their exclusive bedroom.
He said upon further enquiries, his wife denied knowledge yet she was the only one having access to their bedroom while he was away for two weeks.

“On the next day following the discovery of the empty condom shell, while I was preparing to take the rubbish bin out of the gate, within its contents, which had been pushed by the family dogs resulting in throwing out of its contents to the ground, I discovered a used condom,” alleged the husband.

He said he again enquired from his wife about the origins of the used condom as well as the empty condom wrapper. she allegedly failed to give him a justifiable explanation but simply accused the family’s helper of being responsible.
He stated that his wife’s love and affection towards him deteriorated to such a low level that she no longer did any laundry for him and further refused to cook for him.

“The parties’ sexual life deteriorated since then to such an extent that to date hereof ever since 2013, the parties have not had sexual intercourse as husband and wife, all because of the defendant’s (lawyer) unlawful conduct,” the husband submitted.

He now wants the court to issue a final decree of divorce based on the lawyer’s alleged adulterous affairs.
These are allegations contained in an affidavit whose veracity is still to be tested in court.

The names of the attorney and her husband will not be disclosed due to sensitive details contained in their affidavits. In his application, the husband stated that on or about May 11, 2002 they entered into a civil rites marriage and three children were born.

He alleged that with full and resolute intention of putting their marriage to an end, the lawyer committed several undesirable acts while their marriage was still in existence.
