MBABANE – The biker who died over the weekend in a motorbike accident in South Africa, received death threats before his demise.

Stanley Mnisi died on Sunday after his motorbike collided with a van.

However, this is not to suggest that the death threats had anything to do with the accident.
Family members found at his home at Thembelihle on Wednesday, asked that they be left in peace to mourn Minisi’s death, saying they did not want to entertain any questions from journalists.

The death threats were reported to the police because they were serious. The unknown person, who threatened Mnisi, would inform him of his whereabouts at all times.
At first, the threats started with emails and after some time, Mnisi started receiving them on his cellphone.
Police Deputy Information and Communications Officer Phindile Vilakati confirmed that they were still investigating the death threats at the time of Mnisi’s demise.

“The case was being handled by Tingculungculu, as it was becoming serious and Mnisi needed answers because he did not feel safe. This department is above Lukhozi Serious Crimes Unit. It is true that he was being threatened and our investigations were ongoing,” Vilakati said.
According to a reliable source, early last week, Mnisi was at the Mbabane Police Station to enquire about the case he had opened.
According to the source, the person who threatened Mnisi would, at times, inform him of his whereabouts even when he was out of the country, which was what scared him the most.
His memorial service will be held at the Assemblies of God Church at Sandla, after which the family will proceed to Dups Funeral Parlour today.
