MBABANE – Lawyer Sipho Mnisi met with suspended Chief Justice (CJ) Michael Ramodibedi for about three hours at his residence to discuss the possibility of legal representation, it has emerged.

Minisi is a lawyer under SS Mnisi Attorneys.
The lawyer visited the suspended CJ accompanied by an assistant from his office at around 9am yesterday.
The duo was spotted at the main entrance to the judges’ complex, before proceeding to Justice Ramodibedi’s residence.

This follows the appearance of Ramodibedi before a tribunal on various charges, including the contravention of the Anti Corruption Act of 2006.
Mnisi, when reached for comment, disclosed that he indeed discussed the possibility of representing Justice Ramodibedi.

“We discussed many other things at length including available options,” said Mnisi.
Mnisi is said to have been called by a relative of the suspended CJ for the meeting.
However, it could not be established who exactly called him.

Tribunal

Justice Ramodibedi appeared before the tribunal on Monday, marking the first day he left his house after locking himself inside for 36 days.
Despite having left his house on Monday, Ramodibedi has continued to remain indoors.
Nothing has changed, though his wish to have the hearing postponed was granted.

Police officers have also continued to maintain their presence at his residence.
They have also maintained their silence on what exactly their presence entails at the suspended CJ’s house.
Attempts to reach Justice Ramodibedi were unsuccessful as his mobile phone rang unanswered.
