MANZINI - Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Beauty Makhubela was on Wednesday allegedly threatened by a football administrator and had to call the police for protection.

The incident is said to have occurred at about 7pm on the day after the CEO was allegedly held ‘hostage’ by the football administrator, who demanded answers on why his niece, a doctor who was allegedly injured while on duty, had not been compensated by the hospital.
The football administrator will not be named for now as he has not been charged with any offence.

Some of those who attended the meeting revealed that the family wanted money, part of which was compensation and money that the doctor had allegedly used while undergoing treatment in South Africa.
Other reliable sources within the hospital’s union, who preferred anonymity, revealed that the hospital administration had revealed that it was not liable to issue funds to the said doctor as she was not injured while on duty.

It was gathered that the CEO met at the library with the football administrator and some members of the administration, including the hospital administrator, Leonard Dlamini, from morning until 7pm when the CEO felt she was not safe.

This, after the football administrator had allegedly said unpalatable words during the course of the meeting. Makhubela is alleged to have first notified security guards from Guard Alert, who provide security at the hospital, to be on standby and roam around her office as she feared being attacked by the football administrator.

Before the meeting ended, the police were called and they escorted the CEO out of the hospital premises to her home. The football administrator was immediately seen leaving the offices together with the hospital administrator.
