MATSAPHA –Two days before his arrest, Sibusiso Shongwe, the former Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, partied with children with disabilities at Esibayeni Lodge. This happened on Saturday last week. Food was plenty there.

The attorney by profession hosted a party for children with autism to celebrate His Majesty’s 47th Birthday.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a range of complex neurodevelopment disorders, characterised by social impairments, communication difficulties, and restricted, repetitive, and stereotyped patterns of behaviour.

Shongwe, inviting this reporter to attend the party, said he was ready to be arrested at Esibayeni Lodge.
He was in and out of the banqueting hall where he hosted the party.
This forced his wife, tasked to introduce him to the audience, to delay for a few minutes while her husband was busy conversing with someone outside the banqueting hall.

At that time, police and officers from the Anti-Corruption Commission were trying some means to enter Chief Justice Michael Ramodibedi’s house at the Judges’ Complex in Thembelihle, Mbabane.
The ex-minister finally came in and told the children that he was speaking with a heavy heart as he was sad about the things that were happening in the country.

He was not in his usual jovial mood.
His biological mother, wife, children, close relatives and Christians gave him words of strength and support.
He hosted the party for the children to commemorate His Majesty King Mswati III’s birthday which the nation celebrated on Sunday in Buhleni, in the northern part of Swaziland.
