MBABANE – Police have vowed to tread carefully should they decide to forcefully enter the Chief Justice, Michael Ramodibedi’s house because he has two guns and there are fears that he could kill himself

Ramodibedi locked himself in his house since Saturday, apparently in an attempt to evade arrest after a warrant for his apprehension was issued for various charges including conflict of interest, abuse of authority, defeating the ends of justice, as well as theft.

Today marks the seventh day since the head of the Judiciary locked himself in his house situated at the judges’ complex at Thembelihle.
There has been various concerns that Ramodibedi could pull the trigger on himself as the operation to get him to surrender intensifies.

Several concerned members of the public have been inundating the police with calls about the safety of the CJ, especially because he had not heeded pleas from the National Commissioner of Police, Isaac Magagula, and Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini to surrender himself, with further assurance that he would not be killed as he (CJ) had earlier claimed.

Assistant Superintendent Khulani Mamba, Police Information and Communications Officer, admitted that they had received concerns from the public that the CJ could kill himself, especially because he had two guns in the house.
Mamba said one gun belonged to the CJ while the other to his wife.

Both guns are part of security measures as Ramodibedi holds a high position in the country.
Mamba further confirmed that both weapons were licensed.
“People have been calling the police in fear that he (CJ) might end his life. They are suspecting that he could do this because there are two guns in his house.

Who would be blamed if he commits suicide? This situation get tougher by time, now the do not need to use power but use technological means to get him out of the house. On the other hand, innocent till proven guilty rule make it even tricky

The CJ should man up and face his sins.He has sentenced many people who were found on the wrong side of the law but they did not kill themselves and nobody would have cared if they did.

The CJ would not kill himself nor locked himself forever in the house, He is just waiting for heat to cool then he will be able to face the charges and submit a clear explanation to (KULABADZALA) as to why he embarrassed this peaceful country, then he can taste his medicine (bese uviswa umutsi wakhe).

Well what we can tell the police amidst all the fears is that we donot expect accidents that would take the CJ's life or that of anyone for that matter. Are being prepared here for an 'accident" that might end the life of CJ in the crossfire that now seems imminent as police are now threatening to use force? We want him alive to spill the beans that we hear he harbours for someone in authority and donot want him to "conviniently die" therefore. We know these tactics because once this has happened all we would hear was that someone got shot at by the forces in self defense as he was armed.

There's no need for fear. If he takes his life, let it be. Who cares? This has not been considered with locals, where police would teargas them and going as far as shooting and killing them. Why now? What's the fuss. Break the house and take the man. He has put people into jail and must visit as well. That said, what if he's already dead?
