MBABANE – Swazi-born son of South African President Jacob Zuma, Edward, wants Swazis who are in South Africa illegally to be kicked out.

Speaking during an interview on Thursday, Edward said he maintained his statement that foreigners living illegally in SA should go back to their respective countries.
The statement was made at the wake of xenophobic attacks that have resulted in the death of six people so far.

The attacks occurred mainly in KwaZulu-Natal and surrounding areas, targeting foreign nationals operating small businesses in that country.
These are mainly people from East, Central, Northen and West Africa.
The attacks are a recurring event after those that were staged in 2008.

In his initial statement which was in support of that made by King Goodwill Zwelithini, Edward said: “We need to be aware that as a country we are sitting on a ticking time bomb of them (foreigners) taking over the country.”
Zwelithini allegedly made the comments, which have sparked criticism, at a moral regeneration rally in Pongola, northern KwaZulu-Natal, two weeks ago.
“The reason I am saying that is because some of the foreigners are working for private security companies where they have been employed for cheap labour.

“These companies are running away from complying with South African labour laws,” the president’s eldest son was quoted as having said.
The young Zuma said he would not mind if same was done to South Africans who are living in Swaziland illegally.

Edward said he stood by his statement and insisted that all people, including Swazis, who were illegal immigrants, should leave South Africa.
“Bazohlala njani eSouth Afrika bengaziwa ukuthi bawobani?” he asked meaning, “How will they stay in South Africa without proper recognition?”

When asked about the criticism that his statement has attracted, Edward said: “I am not aware of any criticism, save for people who are simply airing their views.”
He has been criticised for alleged hate speech and further reported to the SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).

It is the work of government to ensure our fellow Africans are legally recognized in our country,South Africa not us. Seeing that Jacob is failing to have that done, Edward should advise his failure of a father to do better instead of uttering hatfull things. It is Ubuntu to receive and help a neighbour when need be as to whether the neighbour entered your home legally or not is not the business of the children but, the father-Jacob is simply not a lead and what's happening is the effect of his arrogance.

Swazi's are married into the Zulu family, his dad is married to a Swazi and a few of Mandela's children are married to a few swazi's. Does he know that historically if Swaziland where to be given back their lands that are in SA' Swazis will be still consided to be at home all the way to Benoni.
