PREACHER, WOMAN FIGHT IN CHURCH!
NHLANGANO - In a case of physical abuse at a church, an Apostolic Church of Christ preacher who was just about to deliver a sermon got into a fight with a woman.
This unfolded at the Apostolic Church of Christ in Nhlangano at Mathendele location next to Nhlangano Central Primary School last Sunday.
The preacher, Thula Matsebula (32), was arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting and damaging spectacles belonging to the mother of his 12-year-old son. Information which had been obtained is that Matsebula was the church’s acting pastor prior to the incident.
Matsebula allegedly pushed down Dumisile Mkhonta, the mother of his child, during the fight, which resulted in her spectacles being damaged. Both the preacher and the mother of his son fell down during the scuffle.
Mkhonta then sent their 12-year-old son to call Matsebula, who was preparing to deliver his sermon.
Police Deputy Information and Communications Officer inspector Phindile Vilakati confirmed the arrest of the preacher.
“We have arrested and charged a man in connection with assault and damaging a woman’s spectacles while in church. The matter has been taken to the Swazi National Court.”
The Shiselweni Swazi National Court told Matsebula to compensate Mkhonta for the damaged spectacles before March, 31, 2015.
Matsebula said he is still recovering from the attack.
“I am still being healed from this situation as I was attacked by the mother of my child at my church. The matter has traumatised me and I cannot comment any further.”
