MAGUBHELENI – A man is wanted for double murder by the Royal Swaziland Police after he allegedly killed his wife and mother-in-law.

Bakhele Jabulani Ndlela (50) is wanted for allegedly killing his wife of almost 20 years and his mother-in-law using a slasher at Magubheleni.

The family of the deceased persons was grief-stricken yesterday during an interview as they narrated how Ndlela allegedly went on the rampage, butchering the two in a fit of rage.

Narrating what happened on the fateful Saturday night was the head of the family, Gilbert Mabuza, with the assistance of other family members and community police.

Mabuza said his late daughter Sindi (36) had been married to Ndlela for almost 20 years.

The mother-in-law, who was also hacked by her son-in-law, was identified as Elizabeth Mabuza.

"On Saturday night, he arrived and attacked his wife with a weapon we believe was a slasher.

"He cut her stomach open, sliced her breast and chopped her fingers and inflicted other several stab wounds in her body. He also attacked his mother-in-law and killed her the same way," alleged Gilbert.

The distraught family said their son-in-law arrived at around 10pm and went straight to his wife’s house and they heard Sindi screaming as her husband attacked her.

After the shout for help, her mother went to the house to inspect what was going on.

However, the damage had already been done and Ndlela turned to his mother-in-law and allegedly hacked her until she died on the spot.

Fled

After the incident, Ndlela is said to have fled the scene. Gilbert said they called Gege police officers, who arrived and recorded a statement before returning to collect the bodies yesterday morning and ferried them to hospital where they were certified dead.

The family members had held a meeting yesterday to map a way forward following the tragic double murder that left them puzzled.

Meanwhile, Police Deputy Information and Communications Officer Inspector Phindile Vilakati said police would do all possible to bring the double murder suspect to book.

Marriage is not everything. Christ is everything. If marriage fails Christ never fails us. Men, weak people revenge, strong people forgive and intelligent people ignore.
