JERICHO MAN CUTS OFF WOMAN’S HEAD, HANDS
MANZINI – A Jericho member (21) who was angered by a woman (45) who had allegedly reported him to the police for having dagga fields, chopped off her head, hands and further hacked her all over the body with a bush knife.
Samukeliso Skuta Mndzebele of Ngwemphisana first appeared before Magistrate Mthokozisi Dlamini for a confession before he was remanded back to custody by Magistrate Dumisa Mazibuko.
It is alleged that Mndzebele had a lot of dagga fields which he made a living with. A few weeks ago, police who were conducting a raid at Ngwemphisana, Mankayane allegedly burnt all the suspect’s dagga fields.
Mndzebele is said to have approached Thoko Msibi after suspecting that she had reported his illegal operation to the police who then destroyed his fields.
He is alleged to have threatened to deal with her if she continued giving the police information about the said dagga field.
Reliable sources also revealed that at some point, Msibi’s goats went to the said fields and ate the dagga, something which infuriated Mndzebele.
Warned
Again, she was warned and advised to look after her goats by Mndzebele, who told her that he survived through selling dagga.
On Wednesday, Mndzebele was called by a friend who suggested that they go and chop firewood near the mountains.
The suspect is said to have revealed during the confession that before he decided to go for the said firewood, he smoked dagga as he was stressed by what had happened to his dagga during the said operation.
On his way to the mountain to meet up with his friend and while carrying the said bush knife, the suspect is said to have met up with the deceased, who again shouted and said the police had done a great job by burning the said dagga fields.
This statement allegedly did not go down well with the suspect who attacked the deceased and first chopped off her head, hands and further hacked her all over her body with the bush knife.
He is said to have escaped afterwards and community members called the police after discovering that the woman had been brutally murdered.
Mndzebele was remanded back into custody (Zakhele Remand Centre) until Wednesday pending his committal to the High Court.
