AUCTIONEERS RAKE IN E300 000 FOR 80 CATTLE

NYAKENI – Swazi Auctioneer Director Sakhile Ndzimandze managed to rake in about E300 000 after selling 80 cattle for the owner of the about 110 flock through a public auction that took place at Enyakeni yesterday.


Some of the cattle could not be sold as they escaped from their holdng. It was the survival of the fittest among the business people in the beef industry during a during the sale which was arguably among the massive. To get some of the cattle, one had to make sure that he or she outbids the other bidders during the auction that lasted for about two hours. It started at 11:15am and it was over at 1:30pm.


The bidders looked eager to at least buy one or more cattle which constituted of Brahmans, pure Nguni and cross-breeds (Nguni/Brahman) of different ages. Out of all the breeds there were bulls, oxen, cows, heifers and weaners (both male and female). Most of the cattle had a reserve price of E3 000. The cheapest of them all was sold at E1 100 while the most expensive was sold at E12 100.
