MANZINI – Prince Mfanasibili is bitter that former Prime Minister Prince Mabandla did not disclose to authors of a new school history textbook why Queen Regent Dzeliwe sacked him as the premier.

Prince Mfanasibili was in jail with Chief Mfanawenkhosi Maseko when Prince Mabandla was fired on March 18, 1983.
Two days after the former prime minister’s dismissal, he said, he and Chief Mfanawenkhosi Maseko were released from jail because there was no case against them.

Prince Mfanasibili, who initiated the interview, said Prince Mabandla owed the nation an explanation why he left the country with his family for Bophuthatswana, South Africa a few days after he had been relieved of his duties.
The authors of the book titled Swaziland in Focus did not ask him this question.

The textbook was written by Sipho Dlamini, Thomas Dlamini, Notshizi Hlatjwako and Happiness Mabuza.
It was then reviewed by Dr Edmund Mazibuko, Registrar of the Examinations Council of Swaziland and Khanyisile Dlamini.

It seeks to detail events that occurred during coloniasm, post-independence, Liqoqo era and political and economic developments in South Africa and Mozambique, which had a socio-economic and political impact in the kingdom.
It is now being taught in schools around the country.

Meanwhile, Prince Mfanasibili said Prince Mabandla should come clean on the role he played after the death of King Sobhuza II.
