BUSINESSMAN’S PROPERTY ATTACHED FOR OWED RENT AT PM’S FLATS

MBABANE – A deputy sheriff has attached movable property belonging to a businessman after he allegedly failed to pay rent in one of the flats owned by the Prime Minister (PM), Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini.


The businessman, Mhlabuhlangene Dlamini, rents a two-bedroom flat at Fusini Flats located in Fonteyn in Mbabane.


Order


The order to attach his property comes after Fusini Investment (PTY) LTD, which is the company operating the flats, took him to court after he allegedly failed to pay the rent.


The company alleges that the businessman was in rental arrears amounting to E26 832.
Makhosini Dlamini, who is Estate Manager of Fusini Investment, informed the court that in 2012, the company leased to the businessman certain premises being a two-bedroom flat at Fusini Flats, Mbabane.


He alleged that the said lease agreement was oral.
Makhosini said in terms of the lease agreement, the rental sum was to be  E2 063 per month payable monthly in advance or before the 7th of every month to the lesser at the Swaziland Building Society.


Lease


He alleged that according to the lease agreement, the escalation was to be nine per cent after a 12-month duration.
It was further agreed that the businessman would pay electricity and water bills on the premises.
Makhosini informed the court that Mhlabuhlangene took occupation of the premises since then.
