GUARD HELD FOR US SINGER’S IPHONE
MBABANE - A security guard has been arrested for stealing an iPhone belonging to gospel superstar Emmannuel Lambert during the artist’s visit to Swaziland.
The security guard was granted E5 000 bail for stealing the iPhone worth about E10 000 (US$700) belonging to gospel rapper Lambert at the Healing Place Church last Saturday.
Lambert was in the country for his African tour after visiting various African countries including Malawi and he was due to perform in a concert dubbed ‘The Life We Chose Concert’ on Saturday, December 6, 2014, when the incident happened.
The security guard, Sipho Nyathi, appeared before court on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, was accused of stealing an iPhone belonging to Lambert while it was charging inside the V.I.P lounge.
According to a source, who was also providing security during the show at the Healing Place Church, Nyathi, who was the Shift Supervisor, allegedly stole the phone while it was charging and he is a brother to the owner of the company.

The source said the VIP lounge entrance was under the supervision of a female security guard and Nyathi was alleged to have noticed the phone charging while doing round checks at the lounge and he allegedly sent the female guard outside to call another security officer.
“The VIP lounge entrance was under the supervision of a female guard, after noting the phone charging, Nyathi sent the female guard to call another security officer outside the church,” he added.
Nyathi was alleged to have used this opportunity to steal the iPhone.
