HUSBAND WAS VIOLENT - WIFE
MBABANE – The woman of Mpolonjeni in Mbabane, who has been arrested for the murder of her husband, says he (husband) was always violent towards her.
Nonhlanhla Mngometulu has been arrested together with her son, Sonkhe Dlamini, and daughter, Nolwazi Mngometulu.
They are alleged to have killed businessman Bongani Mngomezulu on December 14, 2014, by pelting him with stones and further stabbing him with a spear.
The businessman is said to have died about 10 metres away from his homestead as he was allegedly fleeing from his wife and children. The three accused persons through their attorney Ben J Simelane yesterday filed a bail application at the High Court under a certificate of urgency.

In her application to be admitted to bail, Nonhlanhla stated that the assault which culminated in the death of his husband was in self defence, as he (husband) pulled out his gun intending to shoot her.
She alleged that the children (Sonkhe and Nolwazi) intervened and assaulted him.
She further submitted that had her husband not assaulted her and further pulled out a gun on her, he would be still alive.
“The deceased has always been a violent person towards me and from the time when we stayed at Lobamba, he has always assaulted me for nothing and I used to report to the police both at Lobamba and Mbabane, and the police can testify to that,” she stated.
Narrating the events which led to the death of her husband, Nonhlanhla stated that on December 12, 2014, she had slaughtered two pigs for a special order and put these carcasses in a refrigerator so that they could freeze and be ready to be sliced. She alleged that her husband found the carcasses in the refrigerator and later came with an electrician to switch off the power supply to all plugs in the house so that the carcasses could not be in a good state for customers.

Now it is said he was pelted with stones and speared. The police must also explain why it has to go this far when abuses were reported to them because this is tantamount to failing in duties.
police can testify to that,”..
