GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER

Sir,

The United States of America should not talk to us about human rights. This is the same government that spies on its own citizens; this is such a blatant disregard for one’s right to privacy.

It doesn’t surprise me that this is the same government which was searching for Edward Snowden for practicing ‘his freedom of expression’ and Obligation of upholding the American constitution and the rights of his fellow Americans.
Does it surprise you that this same America has helped to arm Israel to and contributed to the deaths of thousands of innocent Palestinians as if they do not have a right to life?

What have I to learn from Americans who continue to violate human rights all over the world? What rights should be forced upon me by Americans who cause havoc all around the world?

I am not in any way implying that the Kingdom of Swaziland must violate human rights, but I am saying that Swaziland should be very sceptical in taking America’s word regarding what is right and what is wrong.

Thulani Maseko, by virtue of his profession, should have known very clearly where the line is drawn between freedom of expression and contempt of court. It is such individuals who cause problems for everyone else. I think maybe he has approached the right person by writing Obama a letter requesting his ‘help’. So all the best in that Ngcamane and please don’t blame me.

It is a pity that you are justifying and supporting your plea to Obama with what Mandela (or other persons) said about him (Mandela), as if Mandela was a divine and righteous man.
To me, that seems not the complete truth big brother, it seems Mandela was just a tool by the west to enslave Africans on their soil.
Your Mandela is the very same man who appreciated the ‘kind’ acts of his jailers by making South Africans believe that it is right for them if they own only about a bird’s share of their own motherland.

I am very glad Ngcamane that you know and clearly stated in your letter that Mandela was friends with his enemies (the Apartheid Regime).
You have chosen your partners correctly Mr Maseko.

No offence intended to anyone, I am only practicing my freedom of expression.
May God bless the kingdom of Swaziland and allow its citizens to know and respect its traditions and culture.

You are practising your freedom of expression provided you don't step on the wrong toes! Meanwhile, Mandela gave South Africans not only freedom of expression but also the freedom of association and the freedom to vote for the Government of their choice. A freedom you do not enjoy!
