APPEAL FOR SERVICE DELIVERY

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

I am a concerned citizen of this country and I kindly appeal for the upgrade of all Ekukhanyeni Inkhundla roads, as a civil right of all commuters of this constituency. As our country also claims to be democratic and promotes freedom of speech, I choose to raise this concern through your publication. It is very sad that our entire constituency doesn’t have even one tarred road or any paved street since 1986. Why are we punished this way? It is time that our government does something about this especially because we only have gravel roads, which are very dusty. From Lugaganeni to Luve; Sigombeni to Ekukhanyeni and Malunge to Mahhonwane.

Yes it is time that as commuters we are taken seriously. Thousands of citizens are deprived of opportunities due to this poor infrastructure development. I am a very young man below the age of 30 years, who is unshaken by raising this issue. Indeed our country must focus on the COVID-19 pandemic, but which roads are all the deliveries of PPEs or emergency services going to use? The responsible ministry is failing to at least take care of the available roads. It is not the system of government that is failing emaSwati but individuals who do not take our constituencies seriously.

We are poverty stricken and now oppressed by inadequate infrastructure. The roads are very bad and heartbreaking at Ekukhanyeni Inkhundla. We cannot wait for the COVID-19 pandemic to be over because seemingly government is budgeting to construct and upgrade other roads but ours are not included in all of this. Hello Eswatini Government, it is the communities of this country that you need to elevate instead of rushing to build a new Parliament building. At the moment I am only complaining of Ekukhanyeni Inkhundla roads and not all the poverty and inequality that is happening to the people of our country. This constituency does not have even a single tarred road yet it is only a few kilometres from Manzini; what a shame. We hope something will change soon and save our vehicles.
